Yesterday I found out that Trevor Moore passed away. Trevor created Walk The Prank for DisneyXD, which I was lucky enough to film an episode of a few years back.

Trevor was at my callback for the show. He looked so familiar but I couldn’t place it while I was in the room. I was a huge fan of his from The Whitest Kids U Know, but he was older now and had a beard – plus it was so out of context. The instant I stepped out the door, it occurred to me who I had just auditioned for. I remember nearly gasping out loud. It’s probably better that it worked out that way; I would have been pretty nervous had I known going in I was about to perform for one of my comedy heroes! I had made him laugh a lot at the callback – to have made someone laugh who had made me laugh so much in my life was a tremendous feeling. I prayed that I’d get the part just to tell him how much he meant to me.

My wish came true, and I found myself on set with him the next week. Pretty surreal. I think on the second day I worked up the courage to say something to him. He was so kind about it, and told me he thought I was super funny! I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t to tell you the truth.

I always hoped our paths would cross again, but I’m so grateful they did that one time. So, thanks Trevor for the laughs, for the kindness, and giving me a shot.
